What you will be doing

• Onboard new customers by identifying their infrastructure needs
• Setup new or migrate existing Kubernetes clusters for clients
• Monitor and set resource utilization metrics across the cluster
• Define and implement metrics and monitoring pipelines for client infrastructure
• Teach clients the basics of Kubernetes and best practices surrounding it
• Participating in an on-call rotation to support existing and future clients
• Write documentation and playbooks to help build our internal knowledge base
• Work on internal infrastructure projects surrounding our own internal development and production infrastructure

What we are looking for

• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Experience with Docker or other container runtimes
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider in a production environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCE
• Ability to diagnose and triage issues in a production environment
• Proven experience building production grade projects in a team environment
• A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures
• Extensive experience writing at least one language in a production environment
• Working knowledge of distributed systems principles and ability to design highly available infrastructures

Nice to have

• Experience in tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem such as helm, kubeadm, etc.
• Experience with many of the CNCF projects such as Prometheus, FluentD, Jaeger, etc.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.)

Location

We are hiring for this position at our Pittsburgh & Boston headquarters, as well as accepting remote applicants.
